De-stressed vegetarian support
Stress causes our bodies to use up nutrients at a much faster rate. This can lead to deficiencies in a variety of vitamins and minerals, which is especially common when stress is combined with a vegetarian diet. If you follow a vegetarian diet you need to be aware of possible vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Iron can commonly be deficient in vegetarians. Iron is available from vegetable and animal sources, and is needed for the distribution of oxygen around the body. However plant sources of iron are not well absorbed and utilised by the body, so supplementation with iron is often necessary. (If you suspect you are deficient in iron, please have your levels checked by your doctor).
B Vitamins are needed for energy production in the body, and are depleted rapidly by stress.
Vitamin B12 is only found in animal products, so it is important that vegetarians supplement with Vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is required for healthy red blood cell production; fatty acid synthesis; and energy production. A deficiency of vitamin B12 can result in a condition known as pernicious anaemia.
Omega 3 oils can be obtained from Hempseed oil or Flaxseed oil. Omega 3 oils have anti-inflammatory effects, help to improve the health of the brain, cardiovascular system, joints, hair skin and nails, and protect the health and flexibility of every cell membrane in the body.
